Kayserburg Young Artist Alice Chum Visits Pearl River Piano Factory, Showcases New Concert Grand.

Celebrated pianist and Kayserburg Young Artist for the Asia Pacific Region, Alice Chum, made her debut visit to the Pearl River Piano Factory in Guangzhou on October 24, 2024.

 

During her visit, Alice played the newly launched Kayserburg 9’ concert grand piano, model KA275, in the renowned Kayserburg Hall.

After testing the instrument, Alice praised its exceptional qualities. “The 9’ Kayserburg KA275 offers a rich, resonant sound with powerful bass and clear, bright treble,” Chum said. “Each note sustains beautifully, especially across dynamic ranges, and the responsive keys provide excellent feedback for an expressive performance. It’s a wonderful choice for professionals and amateurs alike.”

In addition to the piano showcase, Alice recorded selected classical pieces, toured the Kayserburg Museum, and participated in a photoshoot and video recording session organized by Leng Tshua, Director of Global Sales and Marketing at Pearl River Piano Group.

“Alice is a rising star in the classical music world and has earned numerous accolades for her artistry and contributions to music,” Tshua added. “She is recognized as a Cultural Ambassador for the Chinese Renaissance and an International Cultural Role Model. 

Her career highlights include performances with prestigious orchestras, such as the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra and the Ukrainian National Meritorious Radio Symphony Orchestra, and appearances in renowned international festivals and competitions.”

The visit marks a significant milestone in Alice’s journey as Kayserburg’s first Young Artist in the Asia Pacific Region, strengthening the bond between the esteemed pianist and the globally renowned piano manufacturer.

Alice Chum is a graduate of the Shenzhen Art School and earned a full scholarship to the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Her accolades include Artist for the China Global Music Education Association, Artist in Residence for the Asian Art Association (Singapore), and official judge for prestigious piano competitions, including the Brahms International Piano Competition in Asia. Renowned pianist Jerome Lowenthal has praised her as an “outstanding pianist with extraordinary pianism and imagination.” She has won numerous prizes, including the Vladimir Horowitz International Competition for Young Pianists and the ASEAN International Piano Concerto Competition. Chum has performed with orchestras worldwide, including the Ukrainian National Meritorious Radio Symphony Orchestra, and has given concerts in Europe, Asia, and the United States.
