The craftsmanship of making a Pearl River Guitar

Paste bracing

Bracing is like the skeleton of the guitar. Because the tension of the strings in standard tone condition is equivalent to the weight of an adult, it is important to paste the bracing for making the top board stronger, which can minimize deformation of the top board under the strings tension.

Bracing adjusting

The bracing not only supports the strength of the top board, but also affects sound of the guitar and the reaction from the top board to strings. It is extremely important and a meticulous task as we need to minimize the negative impact of the bracing on the top board while ensuring the strength of the bracing.

Side molding

A high-quality guitar must be a perfect combination of wood, aesthetics and physical acoustics. This is why Pearl River guitars have extremely beautiful curved shapes. We achieved the outstanding molding by heat treating the wood with measured moisture control.

Neck adjusting

When playing a guitar, our hand is in constant contacting with the guitar neck.
This process aims to adjust the thickness, curvatures and contours of the neck to best suit the performer’s touch and control.

Paste bridge

The bridge assumes the role of transmitting vibrations and also bears the tremendous tension of the strings; therefore, it is an essential process to select its material, weight and height, and to firmly glue the bridge onto the top board with special glue.

Strings height adjusting

When the guitar is fitted with strings, it is just like an eagle spreading its wings. Adjusting the right strings height is most critical in this process. To provide players with a wonderful musical experience, Pearl River’s tuning process ensures each guitar is properly adjusted for a great play experience.
